The Story of a Very Well Travelled Stamp........

A long story- so get a cuppa!! Now I know that a lot of you think that February is WAY too early to even be thinking about Christmas cards .....but this gorgeous little wreath stamp from Paper Trey ink travelled a long... long ....way to join my little collection ...so I could not just leave it sitting in the basket until next Christmas could I ?? It all started in about November last year when I was lucky enough to win a gift voucher prize on Susan R's "Simplicity" blog. Not wanting to waste my treasured prize on something that would be of little use-I agonised long and hard over which stamps to buy with my $15 US voucher and finally decided on this one from PTI. I then went to the "checkout" to complete my purchase and was horrified to realise that my FREE prize stamp worth $15US was going to cost me $27 AU to post to Australia!! Luckily my son and his girlfriend were stoppping over in Los Angeles on their way to Holland in early December so I arranged to have them pick it up from a friend's house while they were there before they continued on their way to Amsterdam. BUT WAIT....there's more!!....they only made it as far as Frankfurt when the snow cancelled their flight and while they drove.... from there to Holland -....their bags (including my stamp) remained in Frankfurt!! Nobody really knows what happened after that as the bags were not heard of or seen again until mid January (!! ) when they suddenly turned up in Melbourne (a week after my son got home!) and my adventurous little stamp finally made it into my baskets !! Goodness knows where it went to on the way there!! So here it is (with much thanks to Susan... and my son)....being proudly used on this month's Bling sketch (# 34) from Annabelle stamps which was pretty perfect for it.
I have also combined it with part of a beautiful sentiment stamp and some pearls (both from Annabelle Stamps) and my last scrap of this favourite Holiday Harmony DSP!
