Lets go shopping for shoes and bags!

A fun "clean and simple" challenge on SCS this week..... We had to visit the "Anthropologie" site and find inspiration for a card from the myriad of fabulous shoes/boots/bags and hats that are for sale there. I chose the "Crochet Craft Bag"- find it here..........
http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=940114&parentid=BAGS-LEATHER&pushId=BAGS-LEATHER&popId=BAGS-BAGS&sortProperties=&navCount=75&navAction=middle&fromCategoryPage=true&selectedProductSize=&selectedProductSize1=&color=020&colorName=BROWN&isSubcategory=
Phew!! That's a mouthful!! And I can't get a link to work so you will just have to believe me! It is a black bag with pink flowers and scallops with metal studs)
My card has flowers made from Bodacious Bouquet Stamps and Purely Pomegranate ink and cardstock (both retired). The sentiment is the lovely one from Freshcuts .

CAS 28- Masculine card

It's not long until Father's Day in Australia (We have it in September - if anyone reading this is from o/s). So when the Clean and Simple challenge on SCS called for a masculine card I thought that this was a good opportunity to get organised for this occasion. This is the card that I made for my Dad- he is 91 and lives in a nursing home in Sydney now but is happy and doing ok. I used a "Fall to Layout" (don't know which one... sorry) from http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com..... If you are a fan of the clean and simple style of card like I am then this is a site you HAVE to check out. The DSP is retired ( Le Jardin) Cardstock-mellow moss/always artichoke and vanilla. Twill tape and mellow moss button with linen thread and Stamp set the very versatile Trendy trees!

So Bashful Pumpkins!

Fancy name for a pretty colour challenge don't you think? Don't think I've ever come across a bashful pumpkin! This is for CC220 at Splitcoast this week. The colours are...So Saffron/Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie- I have hardly ever used either so saffron or pumpkin pie- just goes to show you the benefit of having a go at the various colour challenges around. The stamp set is Friendship Blooms (Saleabration 2008). The matching pumpkin pie flowers have a So Saffron brad and are punched using my Spring Flower Bouquet punch- (I was so surprised to realise that it matched perfectly!) The sketch layout is one that I have had fun playing with this week. I found it at Jen del Muro's blog (Sketch for you to try)

Kellie's Colours

This card is made with Sketch 211 from SCS. I loved the sketch and thought it would be great with the elegant Carte Postale set. But what colours? Then Kellie posted this beautiful picture as an inspiration for us and I decided to go with that- I have not completely folloowed her colours as I could not manage to add Close to Cocoa or Blush Blossom- but the "feel" of it is pretty much the same I think.....

Krafty Black Rose CC181

Another Colour Challenge inspired me today!. This one required you to use Rose Red , Black and Kraft. I didn't have any Kraft (do we have it in Australia?) but you were allowed to substitute with Creamy Caramel. The rose is from Julie Buhler- there is a tutorial on her blog (msg me for details) I had been waiting for a suitable card to use the rose with- Krafty Black Roses seemed like the perfect opportunity. I have put a black brad in the centre of my rose to tie in with the challenge colours - but a "Pretties" half pearl looks beautiful too.
The top picture is my "Blitzed"version- When I saw my photo on the screen I realised that the panel under the rose would have looked better if I had torn the edge of that piece too. I also added a little black "petticoat" peeping out. Finally happy with this one...maybe now I can get some housework done!....

"Elegant Olives"- CC 179

I am enjoying doing the various colour challenges that are around! This one required you to use the colours of Elegant Eggplant,Taken with Teal and Old Olive. (SCS CC179) Loved the colour combo so decided to give it a go!

This was the first card I made- a CASE of Kudzu (SCS) Using Mostly Flowers and brads from the Vintage Collection (which I will have to practice putting in straight! LOL)

Then I had another go! I had fun making this card- thought that the rather dramatic style of this card (by lawboomer and Miss Kat SCS) suited the rather dramatic colours of the challenge ! I didn't have any suitable ribbon so I decided to make it even more dramatic by adding the wire instead! Used my Fun and Fast Notes double layered star again and brads from the Vintage collection. I will add gold numbers and keep it for my nephew's 21st!
