Always blushing!!!

I'm sure you have heard by now that SU is having a colour "shakeup". Some beautiful new colours and some sadly dissapearing..... like the colours chosen for the SCS Colour challenge (CC266) this week...Blush Blossom/Cameo Coral and Ruby Red. I love them and will miss them!
The card I have made uses the sketch (ABSC019) for this fortnights challenge at Annabelle Stamps- you don't have too much longer to get your card made if you want to win the current prize (6 metres of ribbon!)...I'm running very late with my entry! The stamp set I have used is "Always"- I love the flower from this set with a pearl in the centre-looks very feminine. The pearls I have used are also from Annabelle- I have been very happy with my purchase of them-great value!

Featuring......Jojot

I want to be "Jojot's friend! You should see the beautiful gift sets that she makes during the year to give away as Christmas presents! Jo jot is the featured stamper on Splitcoast this week. Here is the card that I chose to CASE......

I have kept the bird/stripes and layout. I have changed the papers/stamp set and colours. I have also added a sentiment and a little ribbon tab.
The bird is of course from my fave "Always" set. DSP is "Parisian Breeze" from the mini. Ribbon is Baja Breeze double stitched.

Colour Throwdown # 43

If you know me you would know that there is no way I could resist a lovely morning of card making when I saw the colours for this week's "Colour Throwdown" challenge- I just love them!
The two cards that I made are both very different- one using "Circle Circus" (yes! I know I am getting boring with my use of this set! I promise I will stop using it ...soon...!!) and the other using the ever beautiful "Always". The sentiment on this card is done with "Wonderful words" which unfortunately is retired now.

The circle circus card also uses Fall to Layout # 31 from the "Clean and Simple Stamping" blog. You will find a link to this site to the right on my "blogs I like to visit" feature because..well I like to visit this blog!- and so will you I am sure!

Happy Birthday Corinne!

My niece's birthday today. She lives in Sydney. I have wanted to make one of these cupcake cards ever since I first saw them on Splitcoast. Thought that a "Sweet 16" birthday was the perfect opportunity!
DSP - Spring Fling (retired) Pink Gingham ribbon (retired) Stamps-Always. Sentiment made on the computer

Featured Stamper

Julie is the "Featured Stamper" at SCS this week. a.k.a "Her Royal Rubberness" (don't ask me why!!) Anyway we had to choose a card from her gallery to CASE. Now Julie has a bright, vibrant style which I intended to emulate, but I don't have any "cutesy" stamps and as the night wore on (Yes it did take me that long- I'm out of practice!) my card became more and more different to hers! This is her card here.....

Very different I know but anyway I am quite happy with my card- its cute I think in a different sort of way.I have never actually used this little bird from the Always set(retired) The DSP is also retired now(Apple Cider)- Hopefully "Her Majesty" will approve!

French Country Cards

I am in a bit of an "All things French" mood lately- I guess because of the amazing pictures that my son brought home from his European holiday- especially the ones of the Eiffel Tower at night-you think it looks impressive by day- well you should see how they light it up each night!!

Well I've never been to the French countryside myself- (I'd like to one day- to finally make use of all that French I learnt at school !) but these cards are my impression of it ! They use the beautiful"Afternoon Tea" paper (now available in the Summer Mini!)

This card uses a layout CASED from Jenni Oliver which I loved ! See her cute card here....
http://www.jennioliver.com/?paged=2. Sorry it is a bit dark- that is actually blue bayou cardstock base and I have used a stamp from the "Always" set (retired) and a pretties half pearl

This card also uses "Afternoon Tea" DSP but with "Sage Shadow" and "Blush Blossom"cardstock and ink and the "Carte Postale" stamp set
