The Circle of Life.......

My Father-in Law passed away early Friday morning. He was 91 years old and had had a "good innings" (as everyone is saying) .......
A new baby was born to a family at our church early Saturday morning......

Here is the card I made for them. It uses a layout I saw on Dawn Mcveys blog from sketch 104 at the "Card positioning Systems" site.
Here are the links if you are interested...

Mel's Challenge

I haven't done a "Mel's Challenge" since last year- they are always so.... well....challenging!!!
This one was no exception - A "Valentines" card using Ruby Red/Choc Chip/More Mustard and Whisper White !! (Don't you just love the inspiration pic?) But.. this one intrigued me because I had never really used Ruby Red or More Mustard before and certainly not together! Also it had to be current SU product and the only current "heart" set I own is Priceless. So.... since I had a day off work/ love a challenge /am very stubborn and do not like being beaten by challenges (as I have discovered about myself since I started stamping) - I set about creating something to suit. Probably not my greatest card - but hey it was fun trying !! .... And I love the feeling of accomplishment I get when it is all done !

Clean and Simple Challenge

This is my card and the sketch for the "Fall to Layout # 24" challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping ( a U.S site which I have recently found and love).
When I found 1 little last left over piece of Purely Pomegranate ribbon (retired-Spring Mini) I knew what I wanted to do for this card! The paper is Holiday Harmony (also retired Spring Mini)
I was inspired to use my Priceless butterfly stamp again by these beautiful cards made by Paula.
The card I have made is for a friend at church whose son, (aged 10!!) had a stroke this week

Featured Stamper

Each Sunday on SCS they select a gallery to be "featured". Everyone then goes to that gallery, chooses a card that they like and CASEs it - changing a few things about the card to make it their own . This week is Emily who is apparently only 18 years old !! - but has a lovely gallery. When I went to her gallery , I recognised that I already had one of her cards in my "faves" so I chose that one. This is what I made. You can see Emily's lovely card here....
....don't you just wish you could reach into the photo and fix that brad!! - didn't notice it until I posted the photo!!!!

My card uses....Priceless stamp set.... Perfect Plum/Rose Red/Elegant Eggplant/Regal Rose cardstock.....Elegant Eggplant/ Rose Red ink....Regal Rose ribbon

Friday Sketchers-World Card Making Day

Well as you probably know by now, Saturday was World Card Making Day and so I felt that under the circumstances I HAD to show my commitment and do the right and most logical thing - spend a lovely few hours in my "studio" making cards ! These are the 2 cards I made - using a challenge layout that I found on the"Friday Sketchers" blog. I would ask you to leave a message to vote for the one you prefer except I already know that my faithful blog visitors (waving Lisa & Sue!!) love the colour combo of Black /White & River Rock the best- so I already know what the answer will be! Anyway I am most proud of that card too- I am really happy with how it turned out- Now I just need some romantic occasion to happen in my family to use it for !!

Priceless Wedding- A candle

Well , here they are-my first photos- We are going to a wedding in Sydney on the weekend . Oops! the card was meant to come first on the post but please scroll down to see it. (I'll get the hang of this soon I promise !....) I had a go at making a stamped candle for them too- can't say I'm really happy with how it turned out.....There are hearts and butterflies on other sides of the candle that you can't see in the picture but I ended up with no room on the front for some more-Oh well no time to try again now-her invitations were mauve with a butterfly on it which is why I chose to use the Priceless stamp set.

Priceless Wedding - a card

Well, here it is! My first card!
Stamps- Priceless
Paper- Pallette o' Prints
Ribbon and Ink- Non SU
Techniques- Silver embossing (though you can't really see it ) - I can see I will need more light for taking the photos in the future....Looks better IRL .
Thanks to Michellena 317 (SCS) for the inspiration (Sorry I don't know how to do links yet!)
