CASEing my Faves 2

Yesterday I went to a meeting of my extended "Team" at Jenni O's place. Because of our fantastic sales results we were treated to a delicious BBQ lunch and because Ramona was there -some delicious cake as well!! Thanks Jenni and Ramona!

Anyway we were all encouraged to bring along some "swaps" and this was mine. I only received my long awaited pre-order goodies and catalogue on Friday so I had to use soon to be retiring (but still beautiful!) Ginger Blossom Paper. The layout I have used is another from my ever growing "Faves File" - this time one by the wonderful Dawn Mcvey
This card is one that she made for a recent kwerner challenge.
(As usual I was doing these at the last moment and did not have time to add a sentiment on this sample but it goes on white cardstock punched with the small oval punch on top of the spotted oval at the bottom with the addition of 2 ruby red brads)

More "Cards for a Cause"

I think it is great to be able to use my card making hobby to benefit others so most of my cards are given away. Recently I found a forum on Split Coast called "Card Requests".Here people can contact stampers who know of someone with a special need and arrange for cards to be sent to cheer or encourage them . So these 2 cards are being sent to America where I hope they will bring some comfort to someone who is feeling sad after the loss of a baby.
This is another example of my new blog feature- "CASEing my Faves"- These cards are inspired by one I saw on Yvonnes blog that I love and have in my faves although in the end they turned out quite different. Here is the link to hers...
I used: Card Stock -River Rock/Groovy Guava DSP- Ginger Blossom (Summer Mini) Stamps- Yummy (retired Saleabration) / For a friend- sentiment (Hostess 2008)Black gingham ribbon

Kristina # 42!!

This is a new blog feature I am starting called"CASEing my Faves!!"
I used to feel kind of guilty when I CASED someone else's work as if I was somehow doing something wrong and wasn't clever enough to be able to think up my own ideas. But now I more think that you are giving someone a HUGE compliment if you like what they have done SO much that it inspires you to have a go too. I would be happy if I knew I had been able to inspire someone in this way. Besides I spend such a lot of time on the computer and have PAGES and PAGES of Faves that it seems such a shame if I never actually DO anything with them!! Mostly you end up changing features of the card anyway and "make it your own" .
So here is my first "CASED FAVE" using the beautiful colours that Kristina set for the challenge this week and the wonderful inspiration of "skdeleeuw". You can find her great card here......
I'm really happy with how this turned out and once again have been inspired by the challenge to use colours and colour combinations that I would never normally choose- Thanks Kristina!!

I think this is a great layout too and would work well with a wide variety of DSP and stamps. Maybe you would like to have a go as well? Please leave a comment and a link here if you do so we can all see your ideas!!

Stamp Set- True Friend (retired) / So many sayings Cardstock-More Mustard/Really RustDSP-Fall Flowers/Apple Cider (retired) Ribbon- Old Olive Brad- Old Olive Hemp Twine Small Oval /Word Window / Scallop Edge/ Punches (How did we ever manage before we got the scallop edge punch LOL!!)
