Special Thanks

Here is a card that I made using Sketch #243 at SCS. I thought that it was such a pretty sketch for a special occasion card! I have used "Le Jardin" paper ( that I got when it was on the retiring list but have never got around to using!) and my Carte Postale stamp set ( also retired). The swirl is from Season of Joy and the sentiment is from Fresh Cuts

Hello Again!!

It's been such a long time since I have posted..... or even stamped !! - Life has gotten a bit complicated lately .....

Anyway my Dad is having his 91st birthday on Tuesday and I could not let such an important birthday go by without making a special card for him. He is moving to a Nursing Home on Wednesday so it is a bit of a sad time for our family. Still we know he will be getting the care he needs there and it is time for my Mum to have a well deserved rest too....

Kellie's Colours

This card is made with Sketch 211 from SCS. I loved the sketch and thought it would be great with the elegant Carte Postale set. But what colours? Then Kellie posted this beautiful picture as an inspiration for us and I decided to go with that- I have not completely folloowed her colours as I could not manage to add Close to Cocoa or Blush Blossom- but the "feel" of it is pretty much the same I think.....

French Country Cards

I am in a bit of an "All things French" mood lately- I guess because of the amazing pictures that my son brought home from his European holiday- especially the ones of the Eiffel Tower at night-you think it looks impressive by day- well you should see how they light it up each night!!


Well I've never been to the French countryside myself- (I'd like to one day- to finally make use of all that French I learnt at school !) but these cards are my impression of it ! They use the beautiful"Afternoon Tea" paper (now available in the Summer Mini!)





This card uses a layout CASED from Jenni Oliver which I loved ! See her cute card here....

This card also uses "Afternoon Tea" DSP but with "Sage Shadow" and "Blush Blossom"cardstock and ink and the "Carte Postale" stamp set

Last night I was in a hurry to get Mel's challenge card posted before the cut off time - Today I had a bit of time to give it a bit of a makover by mounting the soft sky card front on a layer of Blue Bayou and adding the cute liitle corners from the offcuts of the carte postale stamp ( a trick I saw on a card bymelissahenchen on SCS) Also to make the same card in a different colour way, this time using very vanilla and purely pomegranate along with the Blue Bayou. Mel's Challenge- Blue Girl

If you have been reading my "What I've been doing" feature you will know that I have recently been busy helping my son prepare for his latest big trip- to Europe this time !! So I haven't had time to play with the latest new stamps that I got for my birthday- Carte Postale (and the matching Leaves a la Carte Jumbo wheel that was on special last month) Anyway ,it just so happens that Mel's Challenge for this week was to make a card using a wheel ! so it was the perfect opportunity to have a go. If you knew me well you would know that I am a fanatical lover of the colour blue so I enjoyed using the Blue Bayou and Soft Sky combo for this card - just as well stampin up make lots of other beautiful colours or ALL my cards would look like this!
