CASEing Sharonlovestostamp

I came across this card by Sharonlovestostamp on SCS this week and liked it so much that I made a version of it straight away. I had seen ornament cards like this before but I liked the way she had hung the ornaments down from the scalloped border. Again, since I did not have the stamps she had used I had to get creative and improvise with what I had . First I stamped my background of swirls (from Season of Joy) in Versamark on Whisper White. Then I made the baubles from one of the Circle Circus images which were stamped and then embossed with silver . The hangers were made with half a word window punch with a small hole using the cropadile. Then I threaded through silver cord and attached it under the border ( See it's useful as well as attractive!)
The sentiment is from Season of Joy too but I am not happy with it- I wish I had a more swirly elegant one for cards like this- Maybe Santa will bring me one!!

Colour Throwdown # 43

If you know me you would know that there is no way I could resist a lovely morning of card making when I saw the colours for this week's "Colour Throwdown" challenge- I just love them!
The two cards that I made are both very different- one using "Circle Circus" (yes! I know I am getting boring with my use of this set! I promise I will stop using it ...soon...!!) and the other using the ever beautiful "Always". The sentiment on this card is done with "Wonderful words" which unfortunately is retired now.

The circle circus card also uses Fall to Layout # 31 from the "Clean and Simple Stamping" blog. You will find a link to this site to the right on my "blogs I like to visit" feature because..well I like to visit this blog!- and so will you I am sure!

Circle Circus Sketch

I liked "Circle Circus" straight away and was happy when we received it as part of our convention package- but since then I have been searching for ways to use it. This sketch I found on Amy's blog
was just the inspiration I needed! I also love the papers from Pattern Pack 11 (Level 1 Hostess gift) which is the DSP I have also used here along with a black button (I used up all my brads on my swaps!) and some black gingham ribbon.
