I am a fan of "Lauraly" on SCS. This is my version of one of her beautiful cards-"All things grow with Love".
It is to send to Lauraly's daughter who at the moment is in need of a bit of the TLC that stampers do so well! I thought that maybe her daughter, who is 16, would like the fab 'n' funky colours of this week's Colour Challenge on SCS- Concord/Eggplant/Melon Mambo !! I sure love them!
HaHa! - This card grew with love too....It started off looking a lot more CAS than it does now....The sentiment was a tiny bit crooked-would have been ok but it was just enough to bug me ! ... so I covered it up with an oval layer.....Then I decided to sponge around the edge of the oval to make it look more like it was "meant " to be there ......Then I got REALLY brave and decided to distress the melon mambo layer to make it look more like Lauraly's. ...Then I got even braver still and decided to sponge the edges of the distressing with pink to cover up the white that was showing on the edges where I had distressed it!..... In doing so I smudged a tiny bit of pink onto my Very Vanilla layer -would have been ok but just enough to bug me! -....Oh No!!...and so then I had to add the leaves to cover that!! Lol!! Thank Goodness for "Embellishment Opportunities!

:)))) you made my day with this story!
I can easily see myself in it. A lot of cards was made based on the mistakes )))
But colors are just fantastic! And I like the layout.
I think most of us have been thankful for 'embellishment opportunities' at one time or another! You'd never know on your card - it all looks brilliant. I particularly like the flowers with their pearl centres. Vicky x
Well done ,love the distressing on edges and those flowers too.
