Cat Crazy!

"Cat Crazy" is the featured stamper on SCS this week and seeing as some members of my family could be described as "Cat Crazy" !! I was intrigued to have a look through her gallery. I found this card "Newsprint Poppies" that I really liked but as I did not own any of the materials she used I had to improvise to make my own CAS version of her card.
I did not have her wide black and white striped ribbon but I did have a similar narrow version. I did not have enough of it to make a big knot so I simply wrapped it around my panel. (Easier to post too!)
I did not have her large poppy stamp and I do not like colouring but I did have this small poppy stamp that I love to direct colour on the stamp with markers so I used that.
Finally I did not have any newsprint DSP but I did have a new (to me) linen look background stamp so I used that.
I DID have 3 black brads ! but I put them in a different spot!
I suppose my card is not as spectacular as hers but I did enjoy making it, and on a rainy (yeah!) no work (yeah!) Melbourne afternoon - what more could you want than stamps ,ink and an interesting challenge?

Had a peek at the original, very nice, but I like yours much more. I think it's a little more subtle and therefore the poppies stand out far more.

Also, I think I can rustle up the tools you have used so I think I will be CASing you again.

I love how you have adapted and overcome to produce a similar themed but totally fresh card. The poppy really sings out from the linen background. Gorgeous. Hugs Sxx
