This week's One Layer Wednesday challenge (#54 ) on Simplicity blog was to go to a site showing fabulous cakes for babies and be inspired to make a one layer baby card. I chose this cake. I was inspired by the colours and the patchwork and the stars . The patches are made by lightly pressing down a "Stamping Spot (SU) directly on to the card. The star is SU although I don't know which set it is from as he has sadly been separated from his friends- if you know please let do tell so that I can happily reunite them!

This is sweet Robyn and really does conjure up new-baby-ness! Sorry, I don't recognise the star! Vx
Hi Robyn - great interpretation of th patchwork cake! I just love it.
Robyn, I just love seeing what other people's ideas are from an inspiration challenge! I love what you've done...and I didn't even see that when I was looking at the cakes...super cool card!
What a beautiful card, Robyn. Such a clever idea using the stamp spots for such a great effect. Your card, like the cake, looks good enough to eat!
This is fab, I liked the patchwork effect but couldn't translate it to one layer but this is fab :)
