Missing you......

Here is a very CAS card inspired by one I saw on SCS by HS Kelly. It is for this week's "Clean and Simple challenge.....to use paper piercing. It also uses up another of my discount store butterflies.
Advice please...does anyone know how to keep the paper piercing holes EXACTLY the same? Some of mine are bigger than some others. Is it just practice? I haven't really done this technique much. Also how to get your sentiment to come out uniformly inked? The "h" on mine is darker than the rest. Any advice gratefully accepted.

We are enjoying living in Queensland for the most part....but leaving our children in Victoria...well that is still a challenge of a different kind......

Hi Robyn
sweet CAS card ,
When I prick a line of holes I do so one of two ways to even holes ..
1 always use the pricking mat .
one .. I find sometimes if I place the free hand just under the line of pricking so that I rest my other hand on it as I prick This way I seem to be able to regulate how deep I go each time .
two ...wrap some thin tape around the pricking tool just above the point so that is how deep you go as you prick into card / paper .
hope these help

Hi again as far as even inking goes ..
With narrow sentiments stamps I place the stamp face up on the desk and use the stamp pad to ink from above ..lightly tapping rather than pressing down on stamp .
I find standing up to stamp helps to give even pressure on stamping as well .

Hello hello Robyn! I feel as if it's been ages since I popped in but it's great to see you're back blogging again. It must be so difficult to get settled somewhere so far from your children but I expect you're grateful for all the new technology that means they can be sort of with you.

Love the card with that gorgeous big butterfly! Shirley's tips sound great and I'll add my tuppence worth! Even piercing and stamping can be helped with a nice soft mat underneath. Darker ink on one side means the stamp has rocked a bit, so keep it level and you could experiment with stamping more lightly too. Hope these suggestions help.

Hugs,
Vicky x

Lovely elegant card Robyn, the butterfly is beautiful. I use the SU paper piercing mat pack,if that bit of information helps

Yes I know you Victorians laugh at us finding winter cold here, but, well, it is!
