His 'n' Hers

The Fall to Layouts on Clean and Simple Stamping blog are great to use for guy's cards because..well... they are clean and simple ! - as guys like their cards to be ! This week's sketch (#142) is particularly good I think. You could use other things in place of the button- I tried a star which also looked good but I really liked this navy button that I found in my stash so decided to stick with that. The sentiment from Upsy Daisy is also good for masculine cards- I have used the sentiment stamps from this set more than I have used the flower image!

But! I also used the sketch to make a feminine version (when I should have been raking up the leaves! This was inspired by one I found on a blog called "Shaz in Oz" (translated:- Sharon in Australia Lol !) She used the same DSP but her card has 3 panels.
For this card I also CASED the ribbon treatment I found on this card in the gallery by Wennie because I liked it so much. I hope you like mine a lot because it took me about 10,000 goes to get it right! Lol!

PS How do you organise your embellishments? I have found it a lot easier to find and use things since I organised my embellishments by colour. I learned this trick from Susan R. That way if I need something ...say...blue (as I frequently do !!) when I go to the "blue" box I have a variety of things to choose from and I frequently find something that I had not thought of. This way embellishments (which tend to be expensive as we all know) are not hidden away and forgotten quite so much. Maybe this tip would help you too ?

Edited to add- Managed to get the leaves raked before DH got home-phew!

A pair of lovely cards and I especially like the feminine one! Every time I see the ribbon slot punch being used I am green with envy - when will we get it in the UK?!!! I tried to do this week's sketch but failed miserably and gave up!
