Tear Drop Tulip

A welcome day off for me today (Monday) with the added bonus of a quiet house with both hubby and DS at work. So I decided to make a card using FTL # 124 and that has filled up most of the morning! (Why do such simple cards take so long??) The vertical element immediately made me think of the tulips that I found on SCS and have used before on this card (using the stem of the bird punch leaves and the wing punched 3 times) but I experimented with all sorts of variations of backgrounds, colours etc before finally deciding after all that the simplest option was by far the best, well in my opinion anyway! So very CAS it is , with beautiful tear drop pearls (which kind of fit seeing as it has turned out to look like a sympathy card) finishing off the scalloped edge at the bottom. The card stock is the colour of the year again- Cherry Cobbler!! I don't know the colour of the SU ribbon that I found unused in my stash-but I love it! Pearls from Annabelle Stamps
I am also going to enter this in Speedy the cat's challenge # 40 - to make a sympathy card

I love these wing-of-the-bird tulips and yours takes centre stage very beautifully. I bet your day off went by very quickly but very happily! (That ribbon is the retired Chocolate Chip taffeta in case you're curious!)

And another typical Dutch item; tulips!!!
How lovely to see on a blog at the other side of the world.
If there is anything Dutch you're looking for let me know!
